The European LifeDream project, aboard the oceanographic vessel Gaia Blu, aimed to identify and evaluate the stress factors threatening deep-sea coral reefs, mitigating damage where possible.
The project was led by the Institute for Marine Science of the Italian CNR (Centre for National Research) in collaboration with research institutes from Italy, Greece, and Spain.
The Space42 Europe team joined the expedition to document the research, by producing live Instagram content during the two weeks onboard.
The communication campaign involved posts, reels, and live streams broadcasted every evening directly from the ship, along with a series of interviews with the scientific crew to showcase the human side of the mission.
